Biggest Full Moon of the Year
I just saw an article on Yahoo that stated that tonight will be the biggest full moon of the year. Just thought I'd mention it. I'm a real sucker when it comes to that sort of thing. Here's the article link if anyone is interested. http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20081211/sc_space/yearsbiggestfullmoonfridaynight

Classic Movies
Most people that know me know that I love the old classic movies.
Next month on TCM they are going to show Family Classics on each Sunday.
Here is the link to the schedule if anyone else is interested. http://www.tcm.com/2008/tcmpresents/index.jsp
They have some of my favorites on the schedule. Swiss Family Robinson, The Parent Trap, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Apple Dumpling Gang, The Love Bug, etc.
UNO Party
I tried to get people together to have an UNO Party last night. It didn't quite turn out the way that I planned. We planned one hand of UNO and then switched to Guitar Hero World Tour and then Samba De Amigo. The one hand of UNO seemed to go on forever. (didn't take long to remind us why we don't play UNO more often)
Disney on Ice
Last week I managed to get tickets to Disney on Ice. Me and Missy took Jake and Zoe. They loved it.
Jake's current favorite seems to be Woody and Buzz Lightyear. He got so excited when they came out on the ice.

Dad Update
First of all, I think I might owe a few apologies to some of my friends with blogs. I know I've teased a few of you about not regularly updating. Now that I have created my own, I can see just how hard it is to keep updating.
Update on my dad: He had open heart surgery last Thurs to repair a faulty valve. They were able to make the repair. It took about 5 hours for the surgery. He is recovering quickly. They released him from the hospital this morning. He is home and trying to take it easy.

Misc. Animal Pictures from our trip
The above bird tried to steal my lunch! I finally gave up and threw him a piece of bread. He would fly in and try to haul off as many pieces as he could before he would fly off. He kept coming back til it was all gone.
We found these little chipmunks all over the place at Crater Lake National Park
I don't know which one was "Chip" and which one was "Dale" though.

Multnomah Falls - Near Portland
More lighthouses
This is the functioning light house North Head at Cape Disappointment.
This one is located at Cape Disappointment. It actually is not a functioning lighthouse. It couldn't be seen so they built a replacement around the corner. The hike up to this lighthouse may have been a bit more dangerous that we anticipated. The path was really muddy and we kept seeing the following warning signs.

Day 8 of OR/CA Trip - Seaside
Here is a picture of the view from the balcony of our room. It was cool to see fishermen going up and down the river right outside the hotel.
Downtown Seaside - lots of shops that lead all the way to the beach
All of the lamp posts in the area have these starfish on them. They are made out of lights. It makes the street light up at night.
Cannon Beach
Tillamook
We stopped at the cheese factories in Tillamook today and took the self guided tours. Kind of interesting and the free samples were pretty good.
They had a Tillamook Ice Cream parlor in the cheese factory. The Ice Cream was very good.
This is what they called a sampler at the ice cream counter. That's more ice cream than I could eat in a week. I settled for a single scoop sundae but the sampler sure did look good.
This factory was more of a petting zoo. It was kind of weird. They had everything there from an Emu to a peacok.
