On our day in Tallinn, Estonia we visited Toompea Hill, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and went on a city drive.
St. Mary's Cathedral. Referred to as the "Dome Church"
It is the city's oldest church. Originally built between 1233 and 1240.
It served as a burial site for the nobility since the 15th century.
Inside you can find elaborate medieval tombs and more than 60 medieval coats of arms.
Inside the St. Mary's Cathedral. You weren't suppose to take pictures but my mom managed to snag a few before she noticed the signs.
Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (Historic Russian Orthodox Cathedral)
It was built between 1894 and 1900. It is dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky who in 1242 won the Battle of the Ice on Lake Peipus.
A typical walkway - wasn't the easiest to walk on if you weren't paying attention
A few of the Embassies
Another fun walkway
View from Upper Town
There were a number of street performers around.
Seemed like they all wanted to play American songs.
Didn't expect to find Shrek and Donkey in Estonia
original old city wall
they seemed to have some old medieval games by the city wall
Another run in with Shrek and Donkey
Song festival grounds
The stage was built in 1959 for the Estonian Song Festival.

This bench on the festival grounds has speakers and pipes out music
