An Afternoon with Jake

After the parade it was Jake's turn to come and hang out with me at my house. We picked up grandma and grandpa and had lunch at the mall. (Jake's choice) After lunch we went to Home Depot. (also Jake's choice) Together we picked out a few flowers to plant in my front yard. After a detour in the store to look at square shovels, which Jake thinks he needs even it they are too big for him to use, we headed home to plant the flowers.
This was a challenge for me. I'm not used to having a 3 year old helper. He insisted on doing everything by himself. Digging the holes, planting the flowers and watering them by himself. I was definitely glad we didn't buy too many plants that's for sure.
After the flowers were planted and watered I took him home to his parents. Poor kid was so tired out he was out before we hit the freeway. He didn't even stir when they got him out of his car seat.
