Day 14 - Sept 17 Cannes, France

Today we arrived in Cannes, France. We opted for a shore excursion to Monaco and Monte Carlo today instead of staying in France. Unfortunately for me, this was the only port where then need to use the small shuttle boats to get us to the dock. I absolutely hated it. It wasn't too bad going to shore, the water was calm, but coming back was a different story. The water was so rough that there were waves that would totally cover our boat. The water was leaking in and I was white knuckled and holding my breathe hoping that we could hurry to the cruise ship. I'm glad this was a one time occurrence or I wouldn't have left the boat again.

I can't believe how often we saw those golden arches. They were in every city.

Oceanography museum. Most of the floor are underground.

This is where Jacques Cousteau had his labs.

The Royal Cathedral

This was our tour guide for the day.

We were there just days after the anniversary of Princess Grace's death. This is her tombstone in the cathedral. It was covered in flowers.

In this picture there are 3 different countries. Monaco, France and Italy.

A panoramic view of the 3 countries.

They had a Yacht festival a few days before we arrived.
Looking down into the water in Monte Carlo.
It was so clear you could see the rocks on the bottom.

Hotel De Paris

I'm don't think I'm a fan of the sculptures in Monte Carlo.
